Ross Cloutier is the founder and Chair of the Adventure Studies Department at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. He is an internationally acclaimed risk management and adventure tourism development consultant and has worked in over 40 countries.

      Ross has extensive management consulting experience and has managed accident investigations, conducted program reviews for school boards and hazard assessments for various agencies, written many strategic plans, and worked as an expert in numerous legal cases.

      Ross began his career as a climbing and ski guide in 1978 and since that time his bio includes being the British Columbia SAR Coordinator, Climbing Leader for the 1991 Mt. Everest Canada expedition, the President and CEO of Avalanche Canada, Chair of the Outward Bound Canada National Safety Committee, and written dozens of publications including the best selling books The Business of Adventure: Developing an Adventure Tourism Business and Legal Liability and Risk Management in Adventure Tourism.
