With more than 40 years experience in the adventure and emergency response industry as a guide, business owner, academic, and consultant, Ross Cloutier is the Principal of Bhudak Consultants Ltd. and has extensive and wide-ranging adventure industry experience.

Ross Cloutier is an internationally acclaimed risk management and adventure tourism development consultant and has worked in over 40 countries. He is the founder and past-Chair of the Adventure Studies Department at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, and is the current Executive Director of HeliCat Canada.

Ross has extensive management consulting experience and has managed accident investigations, conducted program reviews for school boards and hazard assessments for various agencies, written many strategic plans, and worked as an expert in numerous legal cases.

Ross began his career as a climbing and ski guide in 1978 and since that time his bio includes being the British Columbia Search & Rescue Coordinator, Climbing Leader for the 1991 Mt. Everest Canada expedition, the President and CEO of Avalanche Canada, Chair of the Outward Bound Canada National Safety Committee, and current Executive Director of HeliCat Canada, the trade association for helicopter and snowcat skiing in Canada.

Ross has written dozens of consultant reports and publications including the best selling books The Business of Adventure: Developing an Adventure Tourism Business and Legal Liability and Risk Management in Adventure Tourism.
